Presumably we will be car sharing? I really don't fancy the horrible journey. Please let me know if anyone has a spare seat though.

Hi,

Is that a yes? I haven't discussed travel arrangements with anyone. I don't mind driving, but realistically could probably only manage one passenger in my little car, so also happy to fit in with other people?

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder for those of you who may not have committed yet, and some further details for those who have. The following is basically a copy of the e-mail I've just sent out in case I've missed anyone:

I think I've spoken to everyone who has expressed an interest regarding a change of venue. The trip will now be going to the Sligachan Campsite. This will coincide with a Durham Mountain Sports trip and therefore hopefully give everyone more flexibility regarding type of day out and and company. Brief details are at the link below and the second link is for the general Sligachan Hotel Website.

http://www.sligachan.co.uk/

For anyone who isn't familiar with the set up, there is a hotel, two chalets, a bunkhouse and the campsite all on one site at Sigachan. If anyone is interested in the trip, but doesn't fancy camping there may be spaces at the bunkhouse/hotel. The hotel has an intimate bar which welcomes non residents during quiet times. I think the large bar will probably be open, at the very least, for the bankholiday weekend. Portree is about 15 minutes away. Previous trips have involved a visit by cab for those who fancy a drink/meal elsewhere.

The campsite doesn't require booking. I'm led to believe that there shouldn't be any problems getting a pitch, although it will probably be pretty busy on the bankholiday weekend. The charge is £5 per person, per night. There shouldn't be any additional charges for cars etc.

The people I think are going on the trip are as follows:

Duncan
Eric
Myself
Penny - I'm not sure if you want to be SMC or DMS for this trip, but I'll keep you in the loop!
Graham - Are you a definite, I wasn't sure?
Steve - I think you were a possible?
Phil - Coming at some point, but I'm not sure when.

As booking isn't necessary its not too important if I know who's coming and when, but it would help with the arrangements if you could give me an idea. Please let me know if I've simply missed you out (sorry!).

Because its a big campsite, I suggest that anyone who wants to camp as a group e-mails me their car make/model, colour and registration. I'll forward the list privately to anyone who is coming on the trip and that way we can look out for each other when we get there. I'll happily forward on any other details, such as likely arrival time.

I think that's everything. I'd love to hear from anyone who's maybe been thinking about it, but hasn't committed yet. Please get in touch if you need any further details.

Come on - it should be pre midges!
